Former Long Hill Police Chief In Stable But Serious Condition

Robert and George Falzarano injured in Arkansas accident that took Morris Twp. man's life.

Former Long Hill Police Chief Robert Falzarano is in "stable but serious condition" in an Arkansas hospital following a fatal accident, according to  Lt. Brian Gibbons.

Falzarano, who is the Chatham Borough Administrator, was outside Little Rock, Ark., Monday afternoon. The accident claimed the life of Charles Dziedzic, of Morris Township, the deputy director of the .

According to Gibbons, Falzarano was stabilized at the scene of the crash before being airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. He underwent surgery and his family is with him.

Falzarano's brother George, was also injured in the crash. His injuries, Gibbons said, are not life-threatening. 

The three men were returning from a cross-country motorcycle trip when the accident occurred.

Robert Falzarano has been 's administrator since Aug. 1, 2001. Prior to that, he served 27 years in the Long Hill Township Police Department, including 15 years as chief.

Both Falzarano brothers are residents of Long Hill.
