Hurricane Floyd September 1999… September 11, 2001...Hurricane Irene August 2011...2011 Halloween Nor’easter and Super Storm Sandy Oct. 29, all these events affected our region.

Ask yourself….was I prepared and ready?

To be sure of your answer, head to the Warren Township Library from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. June 3 for the Somerset County Office of Emergency Management Emergency presentation “Emergency Preparedness, Are You Ready?”, led by Tony DeMatteo, Emergency Support Specialist.

DeMatteo will facilitate a group discussion regarding the various types of disasters that can occur both man-made and natural.  A pre-presentation survey will be taken to identify how many of the participants are “prepared.”

DeMatteo will then review the material via a safety presentation reviewing a 72 hours emergency preparedness plan.

Finally, he will display and go over the contents of a sample emergency kit with the group.  DeMatteo will also review available opportunities for the general public including CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), CART (Community Animal Response Team) and other areas of volunteer emergency services training.

Following the presentation there will be a question and answer period.
