School Board to Host Budget Input Meeting

Monday event seeks input on school priorities, planning

The Warren Township Board of Education is knee deep in planning for the 2013-14 school year — including pinning down next year's school budget.

On the eve of the state budget speech by Gov. Chris Christie, during which officials will be listening carefully for indications of what state aid will provided (actual numbers are due on Thursday), the board is looking to find out residents' views on the school budget and classroom priorities at a meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the middle school.

Residents at the meeting will be able to share their views on how the district should go about meeting its student achievement, technology and special education goals.

Bookmarking the end of the week will be a presentation at The Chelsea by Ralph Petti, of Continuity Dynamics, on strategies for disaster planning for small businesses and health care facilities—an issue highlighted by the power outages following Superstom Sandy last fall.

The presentation will be held from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Friday—be sure to RSVP to the Chelsea by calling 903-0911.
