Steady Stream Of Voters At Warren Polling Site

Christie supporter casts vote in governor's race and other contests.

Voters headed in and out of one of Warren's polling locations on Tuesday at the Warren Township Library, with polls due to remain open until 8 p.m.

One of those voters was Gov. Christie supporter John Coley, who said he wants the governor to beat Barbara Buono overwhelmingly.

But he added he also voted in local races, including for school board candidates. Coley said he is glad the vote for school board candidates has been switched to November from the spring, as it was last year, because he said that he thinks it will bring out more people to vote for school board candidates.

"I never miss a vote," Coley said.

Another township resident who said he is a consistent voter is Russell Leffert. "I consider a privilege to be able to vote in every election," he said.

Township Committeewoman Carolann Garafola, a Republican was running unopposed to reclaim another term on the Warren Township Committee.

But there are races both for the two seats available to represent Warren on the Watchung Hills Regional High School Board, and — counting write-in candidates — for the three seats up for election on the K-8 Warren Township Board of Education.
