Each day, the Career Academy will examine and explore two distinct career fields in a morning and afternoon session.  The format will consist of an industry overview led by Career Academy Moderator and Pingry Financial Literary teacher Tony Garcia followed by remarks from an expert, a review of a relevant case study conflict, student generated group discussion and presentation on findings, and a concluding with a question and answer opportunity with the featured speaker.  After the morning period, students will break for a working lunch where Susan Klein, a former Citibank Human Resources Executive, will direct them in career development skills sessions.  Ms Klein’s daily career curriculum will focus on building your personal brand, utilizing proper social media etiquette, creating an effective resume, writing a cover letter that gets you noticed, interviewing, networking & contact development, and lastly, plotting and executing steps in your future career path.

The 40-hour Career Academy program is open to rising 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade high school students as well as recent high school graduates.  The program will run daily from June 24 through June 28th with sessions beginning at 8:30AM and concluding at 4:30PM.   Tuition for the Career Academy is $900.
