Singing and hot chocolate at start of Christmas tree sales for Mount Bethel firehouse.

Information and video from Carolann Garafola

Mount Bethel Village residents joined the Watchung Hills Regional High School Choir's students at the Mount Bethel firehouse on Friday night for an evening of singing and socializing while kicking off the volunteer fire company's annual sale of holiday trees.

The students and Mount Bethel residents enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies before the singing began. Thanks to John Fitzpatrick, Mount Bethel Village staff member, the residents were prepared to join the student choir in singing since they have been practicing for an upcoming show for the senior citizen residents at The Chelsea at Warren.

Mount Bethel Fire Company's tree sale helps to offset costs for one of the four volunteer fire companies in Warren.

The Mount Bethel Fire Company Christmas Tree sale fundraiser takes place between the day after Thanksgiving and runs until the weekend before Christmas, according to information on the fire company's website.

The sale offers a wide variety of Fraser Fir trees from four to twelve feet tall for families to find exactly the right one. The fire company also has various sized decorated and undecorated wreaths and grave coverings. All proceeds benefit the fire company.
