Renegade Gym in Watchung has spearheaded a Christmas gift drive made possible by its members which will benefit over eighty local children in the Warren-Watchung area, to result in more than 400 gifts being delivered for children in Central Jersey on December 18.
The children requested specific toys and articles of clothing through the Salvation Army’s Angel Sponsors program. The requests then were printed out as Christmas wish lists, given to members of the gym who purchased the gifts, according to a release from the Renegade Gym.
More than 400 beautifully wrapped presents will be delivered to Major Verna LaSalle of the Salvation Army's South Plainfield office and given to the families on December 18, the news release said. According to the Salvation Army's Major LaSalle, Renegade Gym is one of the first local businesses to participate in this program.
“There is such a great spirit of giving here at our gym,” said Jared Ferruggia, owner and head trainer of Renegade. “I can't tell you how pleased we are to be able to make the Christmas wishes of so many kids come true."
He added, "The generosity of our members has been truly inspiring."
