Annual Halloween Brite Nites Continues Through Sunday

Children and adults who missed the first weekend of Warren Township's annual Brite Nites event, can pick up the carved pumpkin and haunted house show, along with dancers and delicious drinks and desserts, this coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Wagner Farm Arboretum, 197 Mountain Ave. in Warren.

Tickets and information is at www.wfafnj.org. There is a ticketed entrance every 15 minutes each night starting at 6:45 p.m. and continuing to 8 p.m.

The pumpkin carving display now is joined by a haunted house and other spooky figures and displays, a dance show, and hot chocolate and sweets. Arboretum president Suzanne Smith noted that the carved pumpkins are not real because it would be impossible to carve the 1,500 pumpkins in a short period of time and also to keep them from decaying in a couple of days if they were real. "It is the artistry of the carvers that is amazing. Some of the structures take days or weeks to create and an individual detailed pumpkin takes many hours," she said in a comment on Patch.

The event is largely run by volunteers, who also staff the haunted house.
