The Hunger Games times Three

Read the book? Then it's time to see the movie! Loved the book? Then come see how the movie compares! May the odds be ever in your favor!

"The Hunger Games" will be shown at the Long Hill Library THREE times! You can catch it at Monday, August 20 @ 6pm; Wednesday, August 29 @ 2pm; or Friday, August 31 @ 1pm.

The 2012 film, based on the best selling book trilogy by Suzanne Collins,  stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. It takes place in a not-too-distant future after North America has collapsed. Weakened by drought, fire, famine and war, the continent has been replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 12 districts. Each year, two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games.

Part entertainment and part brutal intimidation, the televised games are broadcast throughout Panem. All citizens are required to watch the 24 participants eliminate their competitors.
