Evanthia Pappas, 90, of Warren

Saturday services set for longtime resident.

Evanthia Pappas, age 90, died on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains. She was born in Chephanlonia, Greece, and had lived in North Plainfield before moving to Warren over 30 years ago. 

Mrs. Pappas was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

She was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Piscataway.

Mrs. Pappas is predeceased by her husband, Spiro Pappas in 1992. 

Surviving are her brothers, Angelo Ballas and his wife, Alexandra of Valley Forge, PA and Gerasimos Ballas and his wife, Amalia of Greece and many loving nieces and nephews and extended family and friends here and in Greece.

Funeral services will begin on Saturday, Feb. 23rd at 8:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung followed by a 10:00 am service at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Piscataway. Interment will be at Bound Brook Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
