Peter Rossi, 85, of Warren

Member of the Warren Senior Citizens Club.

Peter Rossi, 85, died on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013. Born and raised in Newark, he lived in Belleville for 40 years before moving to Warren 17 years ago. 

Mr. Rossi served in the Army during World War II. Prior to retiring in 1990, he was a butcher with Uncle John's in Parsippany for 15 years, before that he had worked for DeMarzi Meat Market in Newark for 40 years. 

Peter was a communicant of Our Lady of the Mount Church and a member of the Warren Senior Citizens and the Advisory Board in Warren. In his spare time he enjoyed watching all sports especially the Yankees and the Giants. Peter especially loved spending time with his family.

Predeceased by his brothers Henry and David Rossi; sisters Margaret Rolandelli, Josephine Kropilak and Eileen Mattone. 

He will be missed by his loving wife Joanne (Basile) Rossi; his devoted daughter and son-in-law Cindy and John Sullivan and his precious grandson Kevin Sullivan. Surviving are sisters Florence and Anna Rossi.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Mount Church, Warren. Interment will follow at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, Stirling. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 21st from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
