Resident Reports Check Cashed Fraudulently

Warren Township Police Department's daily activity reports for the week of Feb. 6

Feb. 10

Police responded to a two-vehicle accident in which the exterior rear-window mirrors of the vehicles collided as they passed on Old Stirling Road, near Reinman Road at 7:30 a.m. No injuries were reported and neither driver was cited.

A Flintlock Drive resident reported at 1:06 pm. that someone had fraudulently cashed a check drawn on their account. Police are investigating the incident.

Anthony Allgaier, 28, of Woodbridge, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, contained in a non-prescription container, at 2:13 pm. after police stopped the vehicle he was driving for an unspecified driving violation.

He was released on his own recognizance, pending an appearance in municipal court, after the charge was filed.

Two vehicles collided on Washington Valley Road, near Morning Glory Road, at 5:21 p.m., according to the police report. The accident occurred when a vehicle driven by Laura Coccia, 39, of Raritan, hit the rear of a vehicle driven by Shawn Handel-Hunt, 48, of Annandale. No charges have been filed in the incident.

At 11:05 p.m., police responded to a report that a vehicle driven by Laura Schechter, 19, of Warren, ht the rear of a vehicle driven by Susan Kinsella, 47, of Millington, on Mountain Avenue.

Feb. 9

Police responded to a pair of accidents Wednesday, with no injuries reported in either incident.

At  7:53 a.m., a vehicle driven by Naga Obilichetti, 62, of Watchung, hit ice on Liberty Corner Road, and the driver lost control of the vehicle.

At 3:50 p.m., a vehicle driven by Pearl McGuinness, 79, of Warren, swerved off Valley View Road and hit a snowbank.

Neither driver was charged in the incidents.

Feb. 8

Christopher Siegel, 18, of Green Brook, was charged with careless driving at 3:12 p.m., after the vehicle he was driving on Mt. Horeb Road slid off the road and struck a tree as he attempted to turn onto Dock Watch Hollow Road. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Feb. 7

A Hillside resident reported at about 4 p.m. someone struck his vehicle as it was parked on Briarwood Drive East.

Police responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident on Mt. Bethel Road, just south of Mt. Horeb Road, at 6:09 p.m. after a vehicle driven by William Stavrakis, 25, of Warren, was hit in the rear by a vehicle driven by Nodar Sultkhutsishuili, 54, of Maryland.

No injuries were reported and no summonses have been issued. 

Feb. 6

Brian Sykes, 56, of Berkeley Heights, was charged with DWI at 6:21 p.m. after he lost control of the vehicle he was driving on Mountain Avenue and crashed into a snow bank.
