Burglars Strike Two Residences on 4th of July

Third homeowner reports sliding glass door broken.

received two reports of burglaries on the Fourth of July, in the Hillcrest Road/Mountain Avenue neighborhoods.

The first reports was received at 3:25 a.m., when a Walnut Court resident reported the house had been entered sometime during the day. The investigation is still ongoing, and no details on stolen items has been released.

A second report came at about 6:30 p.m., when a Bellewood Drive resident reported a burglary, also occurring sometime during the day. The incident is also still under investigation.

Police also received a report at 11:47 a.m. of a sliding glass door at a Mountain Avenue residence being smashed. The matter was recorded as a case of criminal mischief.

The burglaries are the first reported since a series of break-ins reported in March and April. Two men were recently indicted on several burglary counts related to incidents in Warren.
