Chimney Fire Closes Panatieri's for the Night

Warren, North Plainfield fire fighters prevent fire from spreading.

A small fire reported at about 6:40 p.m. above , in the Bardy Farm Shopping Center, was quickly extinguished by volunteer firefighters. Firefighters have completed work at the scene, and as of 7:25 p.m., are leaving.

According to restaurant workers, the fire was in or near a chimney rising from the restaurant's kitchen, near the roof line. The restaurant is closed as smoke damage inside the restaurant is cleaned up. 

Firefighters requested assistance from the North Plainfield fire department, including a ladder truck to help reach the chimney, where a small plume of smoke was briefly visible.

Thefire did not affect next-door , which remains open. 

Firefighters from Washington Valley Volunteer Fire Co. and Mt. Bethel Volunteer Fire Co. respodned to the scene, as well as Warren Township Police and Warren Rescue Squad volunteers.
