Warren Woman Faces DWI Charge

Warren Township Police Department's daily activity reports for the week of Oct. 2.

Oct. 5

An Arrighi Drive resident reported at 4:54 p.m. jewelry valued at less than $100 was stolen in a burglary that happened after a rear sliding door was forced open.

Sylvia Carroll, 72, was charged with DWI at 7:14 p.m. after the vehicle she was driving in the parking lot at 110 Mountain Blvd. hit a parked car. She was also charged with careless driving before being released in the custody of a friend, pending an appearance in municipal court.

A Woodcrest Court resident reported the theft of approximately $245 in cash from the residence sometime between noon and 7 p.m. Oct. 2.

A Sneider Road resident reported the theft of her purse from a vehicle sometime between 6:45 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The victim reported losing $20 in cash, a checkbook, iPod Nano and her driver's license. 

Oct. 3

Christopher Goski, 30, of Irving, Texas, was charged with driving while intoxicated at 12:42 a.m. after police responded to a report of an accident on King George Road. Goski was also charged with driving while his license is suspended, careless driving, refusing to submit a breath test, and fialing to maintain lanes.

He was released in the custody of a family member after the charges were filed.

Police responded to an accident on Mt. Bethel Road, near Mountain Boulevard, at 4:19 p.m. after a vehicle driven by Hossein Rahim, 47, of arren, hit the rear of a vehicle driven by Chana Finver, 42, of Edison. No injuries were reported.

Thomas Krutis, 44, of Warren, refused medical treatment after he was hit while riding a bicycle on Old Smalleytown Road by a vehicle driven by James Benscoter, 45, of Green Brook, at the intersection of Deer Path at 5:02 p.m. No charges were filed follwoing the incident.

Oct. 2

At 10:57 a.m., police received a report a vehicle had hit a mailbox on Mt. Horeb Road and left the scene, however it was not known when the mailbox had been hit.

Oct. 1

A police officer patrolling Liberty Corner Road at 12:43 a.m. found a vehicle off the roadway near Mt. Horeb Road, but the driver had apparently left the scene. A tow truck was called to remove the vehicle.

A Flintlock Drive resident reported someone threw a bottle at their residence, damaging a screen, at 1:48 a.m.

A 71-year-old Whitehouse woman lost control of the vehicle she was driving on Mountain Boulevard at 1:25 p.m., striking a curb and a sign post. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Sept. 30

A report of bad checks received, totaling $734, was received at 10:31 a.m.

Michael Neer, 48, of Middlesex, was taken to Somerset Medical Center for treatment of facial injuries received when the vehicle he was driving on Mt. Bethel Road at 3:53 p.m. hit the rear of a vehicle driven by Manuela Dasilva-Costa, 45, of New Providence. Neer was also cited for careless driving.

No injuries were reported after a vehicle driven by Lowell Plotkin, 32, of Warren, hit the rear of a vehicle driven by Jin Zhu, 49, also of Warren, at about 7 p.m. as they were driving on Mt. Bethel Road. No charges were filed following the accident.

*** Bryan Ehnes, 23, of Roselle Park, was charged with careless driving after the vehicle he was driving on Mt. Bethel Road, near Technology Drive, went off the road and hit a utility pole. Ehnes was taken to Overlook Medical Center, in Union, for treatment of minor injuries.
