Warren Woman Hospitalized After Accident

Warren Township Police Department's daily activity reports for Dec. 11.

Dec. 14

Mary Denise Appio, 45, of Warren, was taken to Overlook Hospital for tretament of minor injuries received in an accident at 4:18 p.m., after the vehicle she was driving on Mt. Bethel Road was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by Sean Murtha, 25, of Old Bridge. Murtha was charged with careless driving.

Michael Dougherty, 62, of North Painfield, was charged with careless driving and making an improper turn at 6:09 p.m., after he attempted to drive across Hillcrest Road from the I-78 exit ramp to the on ramp across the road and was hit by a vehicle driven by Manie Fahey, 45, of Bedminster. Both vehicles needed to be towed; no injuries were reported.

Dec. 13

Police responded to an accident at the intersection Mountain Boulevard and Mt. Bethel Road at 8:37 a.m. after a vehicle driven Hansel Deleon, 31, of Perth Amboy, hit the rear of a vehicle driven Tara Olivio, 26, of Rutherford. No injuries were reported.

A Somerset Hills Hotel patron reported at 5:07 p.m. that someone had smashed the rear window of her vehicle in the hotel's parking lot.

Juan Hernandez, 32, of Newark, was charged with multiple vioations, including DWI, after the vehicle he was driving on King George Road was stopped at 7:22 p.m. Among the charges Hernandez faces are careless driving, reckless driving, driving with a open container, approaching an emergency vehicle without caution, failing to wear a seat belt, and failing to obtain a New Jersey driver's license after establishing residency. His vehicle was impounded, and he was released in the custody of a friend after the charges were filed, pending an appearance in municipal court.

Dec. 12

No injuries werre reported after a vehicle driven by Amanda Cheshire, 28, of Warren, hit the rear of a vehicle driven by David Habeeb, 49, of Middlesex, at 1:09 p.m. on Stirling Road, near Charles Road.

Dec. 9

Police responded to four separate accidents Friday morning, as ice on the roads caused drivers to lose control of vehicles.

The first incident occrred at about 8 a.m., after the vehicle driven by Lillian Andino, 33, of Raritan, struck a tree after sliding off Mountainview Road, near the entrance to the Chubb offices. At 8:34 a.m., a vehicle driven by Carlos Silva, 33, of Hillsborough, slid into a guard rail on Reinman Road, near Grossweiler Road.  Shortly after, at 8:38 a.m., the vehicle driven by Prerna Faina, 34, of Warren, slid on ice and struck a curb, also on Reinman Road, near Sawmill Road.

Finally, police responded to an accident caused by ice at 9:42 a.m., after a vehicle driven by Gerard Randolph, 43, of Warren, slid into a side-swiped a passing bus on Dock Watch Hollow Road.

No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.

At 11:18 a.m., an Edison resident employed at Poerfoloio Evaluations, Inc., on Independence Boulevard, reported the theft of her wallet from her desk.

Warren Rescue Squad took Kevin Scholato, 20, of Watchung, to Morristown Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries at 5:40 p.m., after he turned the vehicle he was driving on Reinman Road, near Roseland Avenue, in front of an oncoming vehicle driven by Jaime Rodrigues, 51, of Warren.

Scholato was charged with fialing to wear his seatbelt and failing to yield the right-of-way.
