All eastbound lanes were reported closed after the driver of a tractor-trailer lost control of the trailer while driving east on I-78, near the 37 mile marker, at about 3:15 p.m. Monday.
State police said the trailer hit a passing car, and both came to a stop in the center median. The driver of the car was entrapped in the car until rescue crews from Watchung and Bernards were able to remove him.
Though no serious injuies were reported, the driver was taken to Morristown Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
Police said work to remove the trailer was still impacting traffic at 4:30 p.m.
