Jewelry and Small Safe Stolen From Warren Home

Warren Police still searching for culprit or culprits.

Warren Township police said they are still investigating the reported theft of about $4,100 worth of jewelry and a small safe containing about $3,000 in cash that took place on Saturday afternoon at a township home on Westwood Court.

According to the police report, township police responded to a central alarm notification at the home at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, and discovered that an unknown person or persons apparently had forcibly entered the home through the front door.

The thieves apparently removed jewelry from the master bedroom, as well as the small safe containing the cash, said Police Lt. William Keane.

As of Monday afternoon, no arrests had been made, and the incident remained under investigation, Keane said.

Bernards Township police and the Union County K-9 unit also showed up on Saturday to assist in investigating, according to the police report.
