Mt. Horeb and King George Road Traffic Light Goes Live

The intersection has been the site of two accidents and a theft recently.

The recently installed traffic light at the four-way intersection between Mount Horeb and King George Roads went operational Wednesday morning acccording to the Warren Police Department.

"The traffic light has been operational since this morning," officer Patrick Mizeski said on Wednesday.

The intersection has been the site of two accidents and a report of theft within the past two months.

On Wednesday October 12, police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection that involved an out-of-town bus.  The driver of the bus failed to yield at the intersection and struck a vehcile. The bus driver was issued a summons for failure to yield. The driver of the struck vehicle was transported to Somerset Medical Center for minor injuries.

According to officer Mizeski, the lights had been installed in July and has been on a blinking yellow pattern since summer.

October 7

Police responded to a motor vehcile accident on Downington Court. No injuries were reported; no summonses issued. The accident involved Haydee Ruiz-Derios, 50, of Somerville who backed into a parked vehicle.

Police responded to a motor vehcile accident on Moning Glory Road. Dr. Usha Rani reported that while driving  a tree branch fell on her vehicle. The vehcile was towed.
