No ID Yet on Discovered Skeleton

Medical examiner still reviewing grisly discovery in Green Brook.

Forensic teams working on the skeletal remains discovered Sunday in Green Brook have not announced any findings yet.

After scouring an area off Warrenville Road, about 150 feet south of Hamsley Road at the crest of the hillside, Monday, the work of determining the possible gender, age and length of time is underway. The New Jersey State Medical Examiner's office conducts investigations into deaths where  the cause of death is unknown, and is involved in the current investigation.

Warren police have been in contact with, and following the investigation closely to learn if the discovery closes the open case of Magaret Haddican—McEnroe, who disappeared in 2006.

To determine information about the remains, investigators will measure several key bone structures, such as hips and skull, and study the teeth. The measurements should provide keys to the person's gender, size and age.

But determining the time of death can be more complicated, requiring close study of the condition of the bones.

Investigators are checking area reports of missing people, and will compare the results of the forensic study to those reports to try and find the identity of the person.

Green Brook Chief of Police Martin Rasmussen told NJ.com the discovery was made Sunday as two hunters tracked a doe they had shot while bow hunting.
