Overheated Brakes Cause Truck Fire on Route 78

State police report no injuries, but tractor-trailer was destroyed.

No injuries were reported after a tractor trailer traveling on Interstate 78 near the Valley View Road overpass was completely destroyed by a fire at about 1:30 p.m. Friday, New Jersey State Police said.

The fire was believed to have been caused by overheating brakes on the trailer, but the fire engulfed the entire vehicle.

Police said the tractor trailer was completely destroyed.
