Person Airlifted After Disabled Truck Rolls Down Hill in Watchung

The unnamed victim sustained internal injuries in Saturday's accident.

A person was airlifted to Morristown Memorial Hospital after being struck by his disabled truck on Hillcrest Road, according to the Watchung Police Department.

The truck's two occupants attempted to direct traffic after their vehicle became disabled on Saturday, Jan. 4. The truck then began to roll down hill, striking one of them and another vehicle, which then hit a telephone pole.

The person struck sustained internal injuries. The Somerset County Crash Reconstruction Team responded to the scene, and Hillcrest Road remained closed while they conducted their investigation.
