Rear-ended Vehicle Forced Into Oncoming Traffic

July 28

Police responded to a three-car accident on Mt. Bethel Road at Maxwell Court at 9:40 a.m., after a vehicle driven by Serena Boccaino, 51, of Basking Ridge, hit the rear of a vehicle driven by Alexander Fornelos, 17, of Millington, as he was making a left hand turn in the southbound lane. Fornelos' vehicle was then forced into the path of and struck by a vehicle driven by Dayanand Musham, 25, of Edison. No injuries were reported at the scene. Boccaino was charged with careless driving.

July 26

A Mattben Drive resident reported finding two outdoor light posts damaged and a garbage can stolen during the night of July 25.

Mark Smith, 28, of Newark, was taken into custody and charged with possessing stolen itmes at 3:21 p.m. after the vehicle he was driving was stopped on Hillcrest Road because of unsafe window tinting. Smith was also charged with failing to produce documents and driving without insurance.

Police responded to an accident at 6:24 p.m. on Mt. Bethel Road, near the Mt. Bethel Firehouse, after a vehicle driven by Gina Roof, 29, of Chatham, hit the rear of a vehcle driven by Lakshmi Mani, 36, of Piscataway. Roof was charged with careless driving. 

July 24

A Watchung resident shopping in the Pheasant Run Shopping Center on July 23 reported that someone stole a purse from her vehicle while parked at the center. The purse and its contents were valued at $400.

July 23

A Chesterfield Drive resident reported at 8:54 a.m. finding damage to driveway lights that occurred over night.

Warren police reported finding a damaged mailbox on Deerwood Trail. The officer reported finding the damaged mailbox at 5:27 p.m.

At 5:33 p.m., a Cedar Ridge Lane resident field a report that someone damaged a mailbox on July 15.  

July 22

At 3:15 p.m., a Peach Tree Lane resident reported someone drove off the roadway and destroyed their mailbox.
