Snow-Related Closings; Police Ask Motorists to Stay Off Roads

Accidents and disabled vehicles reported, police say.

Many accidents and disabled vehicles had been reported by late Tuesday morning in Warren Township, and road conditions still were affected by snow, Warren police said.

Warren Township Police Lt. Herbert Hentschel said police are advising people to stay home until later in the day, so all the emergency equipment can take care of the roadways.

Complete or early closings, Warren municipal court canceled

Watchung Hills High School and Warren Township schools also were closed today.

The Warren Township website reports that the Warren County branch of the Somerset County Library will close at 3 p.m.

Warren Township municipal court also has been canceled for this evening, the website reports.

Somerset County-run senior centers, including the Warrenbrook senior center, are closed on Tuesday.

At about 1 p.m., the National Weather service was predicting the snow would continue until about 3 p.m., with total snowfall of about three to five inches.
