Police Receive Three Reports of Identity Theft

Warren Township Police Department's daily activity reports for the week of March 11.

Check the "Morning Call" for department activities and crime reports as released by the department (No article is posted when no activity is reported).  Each report includes a statement noting charges against individuals are accusations and until proven guilty, anyone charged is presumed innocent in court.

March 13

Police responded to an accident at 5:26 a.m. on Old Stirling Road, after a vehicle riven by Terry Lee Sanford, of Masury, Ohio, struck a utility pole.  No injuries were reported.

No injuries were reported after a vehicle driven by David Vitale, 29, of Wayne, hit the rear of a vehicle driven by John Benacio, 21, of Warren, in front of Watchung Hills Regional High School at 7:10 a.m.

Both drivers involved in an accident on Warrenville Road were hospitalized and treated for minor injuries, after a vehicle driven by Christopher Teixeira, 22, of Warren, hit the rear of a vehicle driven by Lorenthia Howard, 47, of Bound Brook. Teixiera was taken to Somerset Medical Center for treatment; he was also charged with carelss driving. Howard was taken to Overlook Medical Center.

Police received three reports of identity theft.

The first report was received at 11:52 a.m., after a Downington Court resident reported disocvering a fraudulent online purchase of $60.

At 2:51 p.m., an Ellsworth Drive resident reported someone had fraudulently cashed a $100 check, and at 7:24 p.m., a Roberts Road resident reported discovering a PayPal account established using the resident's name and address, which was used to purchase items totaling $638.78.

 

March 12

An Old Smalleytown Road resident reported someone broke into an unlocked vehicle at the home and took a purse containing about $40 in cash and a New Jersey driver's license during the night.

March 11

An Ellsworth Drive resident reported the theft of a purse from a vehicle parked at the residence sometime during the evening. The report noted the value of the purse and its contents, and the ocst to repair a window smashed to gain access to the vehicle, has not been determined.

No injuries were reported after a hit-and-run accident on Mountain Boulevard, near Mt. Bethel Road, at 6:18 p.m. occurred. Police are investigating the incident in which a vehicle police believe was driven by Ram Sood, 69, of North Brunswick, and a vehicle driven by Natalia Fornelos, 41, of Millington, collided.

March 10

Police responded to an accident on Old Farm Road at 8:21 a.m., after a vehicle driven by Stephen Schroeder, 24, of Warren, hit a vehicle driven by Anthony DiNardi, 44, of Bernardsville. No injuries were reported, and no charges have been filed.

Another Ellsworth Drive resident reported the theft of jewelry from their home at 6:06 p.m., however, the theft is believed to have occurred between Feb. 20 and Feb. 24. No signs of forced entry to the house have been identified, and  details of the missing items are available at this time.
