Police Seeking Public's Comments for Accreditation

Department undergoing review by New Jersey Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission.

Warren Township Police Chief Russell Leffert announced Monday that a team of assessors is scheduled for an on-site assessment on Sunday, June 3, and Monday, June 4, as part of the accreditation process through the New Jersey Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission, which is administered by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police.

The assessors will examine all components of the Warren Township Police Department's policies, procedures, management, operations and support services. The accreditation program requires police agencies to comply with modern police standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations and support services. The successful completion of the process will also result in national recognition from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc.

The assessors are Chief Joseph Eisenhardt, Barrington Police Department, and Capt. Michael Rein, Rutgers Police Department.
