Car Window Smashed, Purse Stolen on Apple Tree Lane in Warren

Stolen bank card reportedly used to withdraw $1,000 from account.

The driver's window of a car parked on Apple Tree Lane in Warren was smashed and a purse from within was stolen, according to a report filed Saturday afternoon with Warren Township police.

The purse contained a bank card, police said on Monday. The card apparently was used to withdraw $1,000 from an account belonging to the owner of the stolen purse, the report said.

The report, released Monday, said the theft was reported by a resident of the Stirling section of Long Hill Township at 2:53 p.m.

A report was filed, and no arrests were announced by police as of Monday.
