Roofing Worker Upgraded to Stable Condition at Burn Center

Jersey City man flown to St. Barnabas Hospital for treatment Monday.

Steven Rudersdorf, 34, of Jersey City, is listed in stable condition at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, according to the hospital.

Rudersdorf was taken by the New Jersey State Police NorthStar helicopter to the center after receiving burns on his chest and arms at about 9:50 a.m. Monday, from a propane gas flare-up from a roofing tar machine he was operating while working on the roof at Angelo L. Tomaso School, on Washington Valley Road.

No information regarding the severity of his burns has been released.
