No Injuries in 2 Multi-Vehicle Crashes in Less Than 2 Hours

One accident was near Watchung Hills, while another caused a chain reaction on Mount Bethel Road.

No one was injured in a pair of multi-vehicle accidents Tuesday afternoonin Warren Township.

The first accident occurred at about 2:20 p.m. Tuesday when 17-year-old Imani Rodriguez, of Warren, pulled out of the Watchung Hills High School parking lot on Stirling Road and struck a vehicle driven by Cathie Zimmer, 55, of Green Brook, according to the police report.

No summons was issued, and no services were required, the police report said.

Shortly after 4 p.m., township police said a three-vehicle accident without injuries was reported on Mount Bethel Road.

According to the police report, Gurbinder Bassi, 67, of Warren, rear-ended another vehicle, and caused a chain reaction. Zhu Chen, 40, of Edison, and Krishnamu Karry, 40, of Edison, were the drivers of the two other vehicles involved in the accident, according to township police.

The first vehicle was towed from the scene, according to police. The police report said Bassi was issued a summons for careless driving.
