Union Township Woman Charged After Fatal Accident on I78

Amie Marroccelli, of Union Township, facing vehicular homicide charge for the Oct. 10 death of Steven Wall on roadway in Warren.

A Union Township woman has been charged with vehicular homicide after an accident on Route 78 in Warren resulted in the death of Steven Wall, 22, of Annadale, on Oct. 10, 2010.

Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey D. Soriano announced the charge had been filed against Amie Marroccelli, 38, of Union Township, Wednesday.

According to the prosecutor's office, the accident occurred at 7:56 p.m., Oct, 10, when a 2011 BMW driven by Amie Marroccelli in the far left eastbound lane turned into the center lane, striking the 1998 Subaru driven by Wall near the driver's door. Soriano said a witness traveling behind the Wall's vehicle told investigating troopers that he saw Marroccelli's BMW  in the left lane drive past him and then turned into the center lane, striking the Subaru.

Soriano said that as a result of the impact, Wall's vehicle spun across a grass embankment and hit a tree.
