Restaurant Reports Theft of Cash

Warren Township Police Department's daily activity reports for the week of Aug. 14.

Aug. 18

Alfie's Ristorante, on Mt. Bethel Road, reported the theft of $430 in cash at 2:42 p.m.

Police responded to an accident at 3:28 p.m. at the intersection of Mountainview Road and Robin Road, after a vehicle driven by Anastasia Yonezuka, 74, of Bridgewater, hit the rear of a vehicle driven by Elizabeth Percario, 46, of Warren. No injuries were reported in the incident, and no summonses have been issued.

Aug. 16

Police are continuing to investigate the theft of a 2008 Mercedes Benz vehicle from a residence on Overlook Drive, reported at 8:39 a.m. The vehice was left unlocked, with the keys in it, and was later found abandoned in Newark.

No charges were filed following a 9:28 a.m. accident on King George Road, near the Citi Group offices, after a vehicle driven by Nitin Sondurkar, 37, of Edison, hit the rear of a vehicle driven by Elizabeth Abraham, 37, of Dayton. No injuries were reported in the accident.

A juvenile passenger was injured while in a vehicle struck by a vehicle driven by Daniel Della-Badia, 20, of Warren, as he was turning onto Dead River Road, from Mountainview Road, at 4:50 p.m. The passenger was taken to Somerset Medial Center for treatment. Della-Badia was charged with careless driving.

Aug. 15

Several residents of Ferguson Road reported damage to their mailboxes occurring overnight. Police are investigating the incidents as criminal mischief cases.

At 3:22 p.m., a Rockage Road resident reported the theft of jewelry, valued at $2,400, from their home. Police are continuing to investigate the theft.

Michael H. Erskine, 18, of Green Brook, was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana at 9:37 p.m, after the vehicle he was driving on Washington Valley Road was stopped. He was released after the charge was filed, pending an appearance in municipal court. 

Aug. 14

A vehicle driven by Mark Nowak, 56, of Matawan, struck a low-hanging wire on Mountain Avenue, near Alana Court, at about 9:45 a.m., causing damage to a Mountain Avenue residence. Warren fire department and Jersey Central Power and Light crews responded to restore the wire. No injuries were reported.
