Car Bursts Into Flames After Hitting Deer on I-78

No injuries reported in Watchung incident.

A car caught fire after hitting a deer while traveling eastbound on I-78 in Watchung at about 11:50 a.m. Friday, blocking traffic for nearly an hour.

New Jersey State Police said no injuries were reported in the incident.

Smoke could be seen billowing from the car, which came to a stop in the median east of the Hillcrest Road interchange.
