Warren Woman, Three Others Charged in New Providence Drug Bust

Charges filed after police observe vehicle in business parking lot.

Alyssa Taluba, 23, of Warren, was charged with possession of heroin Monday by New Providence police, after an officer observed two men who exited the vehicle she was in acting suspiciously.

Accoridng to the police report, Patrolman Andrew Diamond saw a vehicle with four passengers pull into the parking lot of a business on Mountain Avenue in New Providence. After stopping, a man, identified as Jarrett Robustelli, 25, of Millington, got out of the vehicle very quickly and attempted to enter a vehicle parked on the lot.

A second passenger, identified as Michael Gilliland, 26, of Stirling, then got out and began to stumble. Patrolman Diamond said he noticed that Gilliland was drooling and appeared intoxicated. When the officer questioned the two men, along with Taluba and the driver of the vehicle, Ryan Heisler, 23, of Gillette, they gave conflicting explanations for their behavior and reason for being in the parking lot.

Patrolman Diamond said he saw Gilliland throw six vials of a white powder under the car. When Gilliland was searched after being placed under arrest, he was found to be in possession of 75 wax-paper packets of a suspected heroin. Police said Gilliland also had several empty wax folds, and two loaded syringes with what appeared to be a mixture of cocaine and heroin.

Taluba was foudn to be in possession of 22 wax-paper packets  of suspected heroin, as well as a vial of a white substance believed to be cocaine, one loaded syringe with a substance believed to be heroin and cocaine, and five prescription bottles with no prescription.

Robustelli was found to be in possession of two syringes, five wax folds of a substance believed to be heroin and other drug paraphernalia.

Gilliland was charged with possession of heroin and cocaine, possession of a hypodermic needle, possession of drug paraphernalia and trespassing. He was taken to Overlook Hospital for medical treatment and then transported to the Union County Jail and held on $20,000 bail.

Gilliland was also found to have an outstanding warrant out of Bridgewater in the amount of $1,000.

Robustelli, Heisler and Taluba were all charged with possession of heroin and trespassing. They were issued summonses and released, pending an appearance in municipal court.
