Worker Injured Igniting Store Heater

Flown to burn center for treatment of facial burns.

Ted Price, 32, an employee of ATV Refrigeration of Parsippany, suffered first degree burns to his face after a gas heater he was working on at the A&P store ignited, at 9:07 a.m. Monday.

Police said Price was working on the heater located in an area in the ceiling of the store. A flash of fire ignited as he started the heater, burning him. He was taken to St. Barnabas Meical Center, in Livingston, for treatment.

No damage to the store occurred.

Volunteers from the Warren fire department responded, as well as Atlantic Ambulance and Mercy 6 ambulance crews.
