Beautification Day Invites Residents to Pitch In

Come join your friends and neighbors and help pick up Warren's parks and streets.

About 50 Warren residents have signed up to help tomorrow's Beautification Day, but it's not too late if you want to help.

The annual project draws volunteers young and old, who spend a Saturday morning picking up roadside trash and parkland litter.

Several Scout groups have already registered to help, and Rainelle Hubacek, administrative secretary at the Department of Public Works, noted the younger helpers will be working in the parks, including the municipal grounds and ball fields, the Elks Lodge Grotto and Dealaman Park.

Adults will pickup roadside garbage along such routes as Mountain Avenue, Old Smalleytown Road and Round Top Road.

Volunteers will be treated to pizza and soda at the DPW building at the conclusion of Beautification Day.
