Gary DiNardo to be 2014 Warren Mayor, New Deputy Mayor to Be Chosen

Discussion for reorganization changes expected to take place at Thursday Township Committee meeting.

As expected, this year's deputy mayor in Warren Township — Gary DiNardo — is expected to move up into the spot of mayor for 2014, with a discussion of who will be new deputy mayor to take place at Thursday night's Warren Township Committee meeting, said Township Committeewoman Carolann Garafola.

The deputy mayor for 2014 is expected to be Township Committeeman Mick Marion, whose term continues through the end of next year, Garafola said.

This year's mayor was Victor Sordillo, who is one of five members of the township's governing body. Each year, the Township Committee, which remains all-Republican, selects a new mayor and deputy mayor to serve one-year terms.

Garafola said this year's reorganization — at which she herself will be sworn into her seventh three-year term on the Township Committee — is likely to be set for Jan. 7.

The Township Committee will hold its last scheduled regular meeting for 2013 at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the municipal complex at 46 Mountain Blvd. in Warren.
