Need a Lift? Township Funds Senior Bus Routes

Trips to area shopping centers available for seniors.

Warren Township seniors needing transportation to shopping centers can catch a ride on Wednesdays and Fridays on a service provided by the township.

On Wednesdays, the buses go to Bridgewater Commons Mall in the mornings and the Manville Wal-Mart store in the afternoon.

Fridays' routes include service to the Watchung Square Mall and Blue Star Shopping Center in the mornings, and the Shoprite in Sterling in the afternoon.

The township offers the service in conjunction with the Somerset County Transportation Program, paying for the service as part of the municipal budget. 

Seniors interested in making a reservation for one of the rides should contact the Somerset County Transportation Division at 231-7116 or 1-800-246-0527; two days in advance notice is required.

Somerset County also offers other transportation programs for seniors, including transportation to medical appointments and other services. Information can be received regarding these services by contacting the above numbers.
