OEM Update: Township Focused on Restoration of Power

Update for Nov. 4.

This is a message from the Office of Emergency Management with information for November 4, 2011.

The Township has worked with representatives of JCP&L to obtain the most current information to ensure that power is restored to all the residents of Warren.

According to JCP&L, as of 6:30 PM on November 4, 2011, approximately 300 customers remain to be restored. If your power is still out, please call 1-800-662-3115 and 1-888-544-4877.

Chief Russell Leffert and the Warren Township Police Department have been onthe ground with JCP&L crews working to identify problem areas.

The Warren Department of Public Work crews will be going around town chipping all brush that fell from trees located in the town’s right of way only. All other debris that has been dragged to the road will not be chipped.

The Township Committee understands the frustrations and concerns of residents and will work to ensure the full restoration of power as quickly as possible.

The Committee has authorized the Township Attorney to file a petition with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities as a result of the poor response by Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) during both Hurricane Irene and the nor’easter snow storm.

The Warren Township Committee, the Warren Township Police Department, the Office of Emergency Management, Public Works, and the Municipal offices, have been diligently working to assist in the restoration of power to all the residents of Warren Township.
