Somerset County Homelessness Trust Fund Information Session, April 10

A special information session regarding Somerset County’s Homelessness Trust Fund, which provides rental assistance to those who qualify, will be held on April 10 at the Somerville Library.

According to the Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the fund was created in 2010 and has since helped some clients get back on their feet enough to buy their own home, go back to school, or obtain higher paying jobs.

Those eligible for the program receive an average monthly stipend of $250, in return they agree to meet monthly with a case manager, apply to a savings-match program and attend a “Money in Motion” class at the Central Jersey Housing Resource Center (CJHRC).
