Spring Cleaning Underway in Warren Township

Sportsmen tackle one project, invite volunteers for the township's April 1 Cleanup Day.

Just as many residents are doing their spring cleaning at home, the township is set to tackle a cleanup on the Glenhurst Trails area on April 1.

Ahead of the township event, members of the Warren Blue Ridge Sportsmen conducted their own annual clean-up of the township-owned Dead River property Sunday. Club President Joe Nappe said the members collected trash, litter and discarded items on both sides of Dead River Road from Route 78 to the Dead River and the access road.

Club members used some heavy-equipment to collect all the trash, using front-end loaders to pickup and carry dozens of discarded tires, as well as large items. The trash collected by the club members was picked up and disposed of by the Public Works Department.
