Township Honors Hurricane Volunteers

And for Lisa Carracino, Joe Giardino and Frank Levine township's event follows one in Trenton.

The Warren Township Committee held a little party Oct. 28, before the regular meeting, to thank local residents who had helped out after Hurricane Irene struck Aug. 28.

For Lisa Carracino, Joe Giardino and Frank Levine, the event was a reprise of one held a day earlier, in Trenton, as Gov. Chris Christie held a "thank you" event for the many vounteers around the state who helped (see the video for Gov. Christie's comments at the event).

At the township event, residents, police, school and township honorees were treated to sandwiches and cider. During the meeting, Deputy Mayor Carolann Garafola read a proclamation stating the committee's appreciation for the voolunteers' efforts, and certificates were presented to them.
