Project Fabricland Fashion Show and Sewing Competition

On Sunday, May 6th at 2 p.m., fashion designer Joshua McKinley - a finalist from Project Runway’s  Season 9 - will kick off Project Fabricland– a sewing competition and fashion show based on the popular TV series.  The event will take place at North Plainfield High School, 34 Wilson Avenue in North Plainfield.  Featuring twenty-five aspiring young New Jersey fashion designers, ages 10 to 18, the participating youngsters have all taken advanced sewing classes at the Sewing School at Fabricland in preparation for this event.  Gift certificate prizes totaling $1,500 will be awarded to the winners and the “Best in Show” will also receive a Bernina sewing machine.

 

Tickets to Project Fabricland’s  Fashion Show, which will benefit The Valerie Fund, are $8. in advance and $12. at the door . Tickets may be bought at the store , 855 Route 22 in North Plainfield or online www.fabricland.com.   For more information, call 908-755-4700 ext. 140.
