"Savvy Social Security"

Residents are invited to a free financial planning presentation, titled “Savvy Social Security Planning – What Baby Boomers Need to Know to Maximize Retirement Income,” that will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, at Warrenbrook Senior Center, located at 500 Warrenville Road.  Seating is limited.  Advance registration is recommended.

Kevin Lynch, president of the Somerset County Chapter of the Society for Financial Awareness, will review five factors to consider when applying for benefits, how to coordinate Social Security benefits with your spouse and other sources of retirement income, and how to minimize taxes on Social Security benefits.  He also will discuss whether Baby Boomers should expect the benefits to be there, will Social Security benefits be enough to live on in retirement and when to apply for Social Security.

The Warrenbrook Senior Center, one of seven centers operated by the Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability Services, is accessible to individuals with disabilities.  The center offers a variety of educational, recreational and entertaining activities for active adults age 60 and above, including wellness programs and health screenings.
