Last Call for Hall of Fame Nominees

Watchung Hills Regional Hall's new members to be determined by end of January.

Time is growing short for nominations to Watchung Hills Regional High School's Hall of Fame. Nomination forms, which may be obtained at the school's main office at 108 Stirling Road, Warren, may also be accessed on the school website www.whrhs.org and must be returned by Dec. 15 to be considered for the Hall of Fame's 2012 class.

The names of the 2012 honorees will be announced at the end of January, and an induction/reception ceremony by the nominating committee is scheduled for April 21, in the school's Performing Arts Center.

The Watchung Hills Hall of Fame, now in its fifth year, honors alumni of the school who have achieved distinction either during their high school years or in professional or community life thereafter, and also individuals such as board members, teachers, coaches and others who exemplify outstanding services to the school. Names of individuals who were nominated but not selected will be retained for consideration for four more years.

Those so honored are recognized by a personalized plaque in the school's main lobby. The Hall of Fame, in its four years of existence, includes 38 people who represent many fields, such as teaching, music, public service, entertainment, athletics, science, etc. – and one 2011 Nobel Prize winner, Dr. Adam Reiss, Class of 1988, an eminent astronomer.
