Middle School Team Takes Second in Academic Tournament

Three teams advanced to top 16 against statewide competition.

Each year, the Bridgewater Raritan Education Association sponsors an academic tournament open to all middle schools in the state of New Jersey called ATOMS (Academic Tournament of Middle School).

The ATOMS tournament began in January and finalists competed until early March.  The tournament was held each week at the Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School.  Twenty-four ATOMS teams from across the state competed in rounds consisting of three games which incorporated 75-quiz style trivia questions.

This year, Warren Middle School had three teams participate in the ATOMS tournament and after the first three weeks, Warren Middle School’s three teams advanced to the top 16.

Ultimately, WMS placed second in the finals in a tough match against Bridgewater.  The Warren Middle School finalist team brought home $400 in prize money which will help fund a future quiz bowl event.
