Public Forums, Online Survey Seek Input on WHRHS Superintendent

Consulting firm looking to identify characteristics stakeholders' want in next superintendent.

Residents are invited to attend two public forums scheduled for next week to provide input on the search for Watchung Hills Regional's next superintendent.

The forums are scheduled for 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. March 5 and March 6 in the school's Performing Arts Center, and will be conducted by the consulting firm that specializes in assisting boards of education with the consideration of candidates for superintendent. HYA was hired after Superintendent Frances Stromsland announced her plans to retire at the end of the school year. 

The board is also looking for residents to help identify the eight most important characteristics desired in the new superintendent, and has posted an online survey asking for guidance on such areas as communicaiton, student achievement, community involvement, and other areas. The survey will be available until March 10.

"A key step to this processis to identify the characteristics to be sought in a new superintendent," a press release issued by the district notes.
