Sheridan Ameo Rallied Students to World Record Effort

Woodland School salutes her for organizing October's jump rope event.

Whiz Kid of the Week: Sheridan Ameo

Nominated by: Mrs. Paula Pontoriero and Dr. Chris Huss

  • Whiz Kid's Age: 8
  • Whiz Kid's School: Woodland School
  • Whiz Kid's Accomplishment: Sheridan organized a school-wide jumping jack event to coincide with the First Lady Michelle Obama's program to break the Guiness Book of World Record for most students doing jumping jacks in a 24-hour period. Sheridan made sure that every student in Woodland School did at least two minutes of jumping jacks on Oct. 12th. She also assembled witnesses for the event, including the mayor, his wife, media reporters, and Township Committee members. In addition, Sheridan reported the number of students who participated to the national event coordinator so that we officially contributed to the First Lady's event.
Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness: Sheridan was determined, organized and dedicated.
