The Watchung Hills varsity hockey team played host to the Ridge Red Devils Wednesday evening in Union. The Warriors remain winless but came away with a tie thanks to a late game goal.
IN SHORT
Ridge opened up the scoring with goals from captains Tom Carpenter in the first period and Keith Knapp in the second both assisted by Chris Mastroianni. But Watchung Hills, always tough against Ridge, came back with an unassisted goal by Sean Simons just 45 seconds after Knapp's. With only 6:47 remaining in the game, Ryan Charko scored an assisted goal to tie the game for the Warriors.

THEY SAID IT
"Best game we've played so far. We played as a team today. It seems every time we play Ridge, our guys step up and they play hockey well together. Chemistry is key in this sport and if we can get this kind of effort with the lines clicking and working together, we are going to stay in the game." - Watchung Hills coach Justin Kaufman
