Warren Middle School Girls Advance to District Championship

Will face Hillsborough tomorrow at Franklin High School in finals.

The Warren Middle School girls basketball team made it to the Central Jersey Junior Basketball League finals, after beating 45-32, on Feb. 9.

The Annin team was down the whole game, played in Warren, but rallied in the fourth quarter to bring the score to within an 8-point spread, according to William Annin School athletic coordinator Rita Zarabara. "But with time running out, the team couldn’t close the gap and fell to the Warren squad," she said.

Warren led by 7 points at halftime, 25-18, but the Warren team outplayed the Vikings and closed the third quarter up 14, Zarabara said.

The Annin girls fought back early in the fourth scoring a quick 5 points to cut the lead to single digits. WAMS outscored Warren in the fourth period, but that wasn’t enough to get the win, she said.
