Warren Schools Expand Preschool Offerings

Integrated preschool program adds class for three-year-olds.

Warren Township School's preschool program is growing, after finding interest in the four-days per week classes among parents.

The program was created to meet requirements for identifying 4-year-old special needs students, but because the district aimed at involving the students with non-special needs students as much as possible, the program is offered to both groups, according to Superintendent Tami Crader.

"When the program began, it was with the intent to expand from just a four-year-old program to a program for three-year-olds as well," she said.

Students must be three years of age on or before Oct. 1, 2012, to participate in the new class, which can accomodate up to 15 students, Dr. Crader said.

The program costs $2,500 for the year, which includes transportation, and will be held at Mt. Horeb School. Hours will be determined later.
